Kelly W.'s Story

Updated 11-12-21 towards the bottom of this story. Updated 10-21-15: I REFUSE to be bombarded by ANY social media to "UPGRADE" in order to see who makes a comment or "REMEMBERS" on this or any other media.....because such media is WHORING their wares for MORE PROFIT than they deserve, let alone a profit they "EARNED" ! ! Am I PISSED? Nah.....ain't seen nothing, YET ! Therefore, anyone reading this can reach me at ONLYBADJUNKMAIL on the gmail side............not a typo.....ONLYBADJUNKMAIL on gmail is correct! Afterwards, I can give you a better email address......... UPDATED: 04 AUG 2013 Re: Cherokee, OK AND Englewood High School To all my Cherokee Elementary School friends who graduated in '63 or so...I STILL CLAIM CHEROKEE AS MY REAL HOME, even though I moved to Colorado in '57 and graduated from Englewood High School in '63. So, you see, I have roots in both places and welcome MOST queries as to how life has treated me and how I accepted what was dished-out and WHAT I refused to accept and made to my own desires and requirements. Life is a B I T C H sometimes, so one has to do what one has to do...GAWD, I HATE cliches, even trying to spell it! ONE THING REALLY BURNING MY BUTT IS ALL THE chinese S H I T being imported! W.T.F.? ! ! I HATE ANY AND ALL ITEMS MADE IN china...mexico, ANY FOREIGN COUNTRY. I will gladly email replies direct to whom wishes such. I OFT wonder what would be NOW, had I remained in Cherokee back in '57. I hope someone can give me a lead as to where Rusty Benson is today and HOPE he is still alive and well. His father was our town doctor and his mother was a nurse, as I recall. THEY were LIFE SAVERS when our mother was so ill. I read where Rusty's little sister passed away... I remember her as a "tot" with red hair, just like Rusty had....I am rambling...so be it! The Wright family had a BIG IMPRESSION on us too! Mrs. Wright was our cub scout "Den Mother"... I remember watching the coronation of that QUEEN LADY PERSONAGE on their black and white TV during a "den meeting".... HOW THE H E L L COULD OUR MOTHER AFFORD for ME to be in Cub Scouts? I KNOW our mother did NOT have that kind of money to spare. I SUSPECT it was Judge and Mrs. Wright who foot the bill. WHOMEVER, THANK YOU! Jack, their son, was a very smart kid! HOWEVER, what with the BSA today being so F V C KING discriminatory, I have little to NO respect for such an organization. HYPOCRITES, THEY ALL! Thanks, Terry D., Dickie M., Patricia M., BILLY E., Patty W., Denny H. .......and other I can't remember who wrote or have forgotten who have contacted me from CHS. Get back to me.... CHEROKEE ! ! It's been some 64 years since I left ! ! FWIW, I miss Cherokee. ENGLEWOOD HIGH: I did NOT get to the EHS 50th reunion in 2013... 53 years is a long time..... I had HOPED Fred P and Myrna might attend... if so, then I would have....only a 20 minute drive, of sorts. YES, I KNOW it would have been great to see SOME former classmates, butt, medical issues and family matters prevented such. NUFF SAID ! AND, just a month ago, April 2016, I found FRED Palmer living in NE, of all places, with his young bride MYRNA and living next door to their grandkids. WOW !!!! UPDATED: 12 JUN 13 I Linked my fb page to here... so now you can see how RADICAL I am regarding LYING POLITICIANS, ATTORNEYS and OTHERS WHO PREY ON WHOMEVER THEY CAN! Oppression by any other name is still wrong, which is what the repUGLYPIGan GOPHERS continually do. IF you really want to know my political beliefs...gimme a shout here! RELUCTANTLY,(because so many CREEPS harvest stories like this to attempt to steal identities) here goes: I moved FROM Cherokee, Oklahoma after 6th grade, after our mother passed, to live with our older sister in COLORADO and have been here in Denver metro since.; my brother Lester went to live with our so-called father, MAY HE REST IN HELL(actually, I KNOW he is there now!). Les lives in the Denver metro area also(DADLY LES PASSED AWAY JULY 1, 2020) AND Our sister Freda, who lived in Enid, passed away just this past August. Our eldest sister Doris lives in AZ with her husband Charles.....they kept me on the str8&narrow till I joined the US NAVY in '65. After graduation from ENGLEWOOD HS, in Colorado, I attended CSC (Colo State Teachers College) which is now UNC (University of Northern Colorado) for two trimesters (RUSTY BENSON called me while I was attending college there: he was attending CU at the same time, unbeknownst to me). I realized college was NOT for me, at that time, so I joined the Navy in '65, at the height of the Vietnam war and became a Hospital...Expand for more
Corpsman (medic), was stationed in Charleston, SC, for 2+ years '65-67 in Lab-Tech training. Denny Henderson (from Cherokee) dropped in one day at the NCO club to say 'hello'. HI DENNY, IF YOU ARE READING THIS! December '68 found me in the Philippines at a Naval Communication Station (NCSP) where I achieved Second Class rating (E-5). I delivered two babies, set some fractures, some suturing, etc., etc. I was NOT that far from Viet Nam but was VERY fortunate that I had superiors that would not give approval for my being sent to Nam with our U.S. MARINES.. In retrospect, I now believe it was my lab-tech rating that saved my backside from being sent a few hundred miles west of the Philippines. FWIW to those who did NOT SERVE OUR COUNTRY, Corpsmen were prized targets by the Viet-Cong! SADLY, I had some damned good friends that did NOT come back home from Vietnam. May they rest in peace! AND, IF you were one of the draft dodgers, running away to Canada OR "doing college so you could avoid the draft" ....then you can go F V C K yourselves, BIGTIME! YOU DO NOT DESERVE YOUR FREEDOM BECAUSE OF THEY WHO GAVE THEIR ALL TO OUR COUNTRY! Can I spell it any other way? January '69, I got out of the NAVY early on college-cut to attend University of Colorado PRE-MED but could NOT take the Hippie movement that was so entrenched at that time. NOW I think the Hippies were a GOOD thing for the USA. I often wonder what would have been had I continued in a medical career. I still love anything and EVERYTHING medical! I got married in '72, adopted my daughter Rhonda in '72. Son Jason, born in '74. Now I have two grand-kids. In 2011, I did not get to see, let alone hold my great grand-daughter; she now lives with a HOPEFULLY forever family in Ohio that will love her as I would have..Sad, but, true ! Divorced in '06 and am NOW RETIRED ! NO LONGER SET MY ALARM LOCK, except for medical appointments at the Denver VA Medical Center. I now have a NEW daughter, "GRETTA GARBO", who has four legs and stands only 1.5" from floor to her tummy. She keeps me occupied and STR8, IF that is possible? ! Both son and my daughter visit as they live locally in the Denver Metro. Mid August 2008 I experienced some chest discomfort, NOT angina pain; ECG showed some abnormalities and a pulse of only 46 bpm. Primary physician said I should check with my cardiologist that I had seen in 2004. The cardiologist ordered an entire battery of test procedures, treadmill, nuclear-isos, ultrasounds, so many I cannot recall them all. On 9-1-08 I failed my second treadmill that measures oxygen to my coronary arteries. 9-10-08 my cardiology visit revealed some blockage in two of my coronary arteries and he ordered an angiogram at the hospital on the 15th, which revealed 85% blockage in the main LAD coronary artery (the "widow maker" artery). During that procedure they implanted a stent in the blocked artery. In hours I could tell a "difference" in how I felt overall. On advice of my cardiologist I threw away my alarm clock. I USED to get to my office "when I walked in the door" and begin to shut down for the day when I "felt" I had enough for that day. One can do THAT when one owns his own business. I try to help my daughter with her finances (she has full blown MS and cannot work!) and helped my former employer (88 and his 90 y/o wife) with their ordeal of living(THEY PASSED AWAY IN 2010). LIFE IS GOOD AND I HOPE TO ENJOY MORE like visiting the Vietnam Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, NYC, Niagara Falls, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Yosemite, SF and the CO Beaches, Carlsbad Caverns, Grand Canyon and any place I can think of SOON! I need to STOP visiting here and fb as it is ADDICTING! So, enjoy life, YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE! As I recall it being said, in Tagalog, when I was stationed in the Philippines: Mabuhay ! ! Update: January 12,2014, today, should I make it through the ordeal.... 69 Friggin years old.... HOLY CRAPOLA! We celebrated yesterday with our bestest friends, Bob and Jamie at our sorta favorite greasy spoon... Twas fun and good to get OUT again. I had surgery these last four months: I had double lumbar surgery and ..... still on the mends! Update: November 12, 2015, last January was my 70th birthday celebrating with my brother Lester and his wife Pam, my daughter and grandson, my son, his wife and their two wonderful kids, both nephews and their kids and some great-great nephews too!....some 30 hungry mouths, again at our favorite greasy spoon, AND, with our bestest friends Bob and Jamie, a son of my late best friend who is also a Denver Cop with his wife too. LIFE IS GOOD!
